Please read these Terms of Use ("Terms") carefully before using the Gauge Scout application ("the App") developed by Connecticut River Design. By downloading, installing, or using the App, you agree to be bound by these Terms.
By accessing or using the App, you agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the App.
Gauge Scout provides real-time streamflow data, weather information, and flow predictions for river gauges across the United States. The App is intended for informational purposes to support recreational whitewater paddling decisions.
The App and all data it provides — including but not limited to streamflow readings, weather forecasts, and flow predictions — are provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied.
Flow predictions are based on probabilistic machine-learning models and are not guaranteed. Models are regularly refined and retrained to improve accuracy. Predictions should not be relied upon as the sole basis for safety-critical decisions.
Whitewater kayaking and river recreation involve inherent risks including serious injury or death. You acknowledge that:
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Connecticut River Design shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits or revenues, whether incurred directly or indirectly, or any loss of data, use, goodwill, or other intangible losses resulting from your use of the App.
The App aggregates publicly available data from the U.S. Geological Survey, National Weather Prediction Service, NOAA, Apple WeatherKit, and American Whitewater. We do not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or timeliness of data from these third-party sources.
The App and its original content, features, and functionality are owned by Connecticut River Design and are protected by applicable copyright and trademark laws.
We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated revision date. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the United States and the state in which Connecticut River Design operates, without regard to conflict of law provisions.
